Hello and Welcome to your Sunday edition of the Financial Freedom Newsletter!
Welcome to your weekend action plan! This week, we’re going back to basics with a foundational habit that we believe is the cornerstone of financial success: creating a budget. A budget isn't about restriction; it's about empowerment. It's a plan that gives you control over your money so you can direct it toward what matters most to you.
We’re excited to introduce the "7-Day Budgeting Challenge"! It's a simple, actionable task designed to give you a clear picture of your finances and set you on the path to your goals.
Why a Budget is Your Best Friend
A budget is simply a plan for your income and expenses. It’s a tool that helps you understand your financial habits and make intentional decisions. We think of it as a roadmap that guides you from where you are to where you want to be.
Here are a few reasons why this challenge is a win for you:
It Provides Clarity: A budget shows you exactly where your money is going. This clarity is powerful. You might be surprised by how much you’re spending in certain areas, and this awareness is the first step toward positive change.
It Puts You in Control: Instead of wondering where your money went at the end of the month, a budget allows you to tell your money where to go. We believe this sense of control reduces financial stress and builds confidence.
It Accelerates Your Goals: Whether you want to pay off debt, save for a down payment, or invest more, a budget helps you find the money to do it. It helps you align your spending with your priorities.
Wall Street Isn’t Warning You, But This Chart Might
Vanguard just projected public markets may return only 5% annually over the next decade. In a 2024 report, Goldman Sachs forecasted the S&P 500 may return just 3% annually for the same time frame—stats that put current valuations in the 7th percentile of history.
Translation? The gains we’ve seen over the past few years might not continue for quite a while.
Meanwhile, another asset class—almost entirely uncorrelated to the S&P 500 historically—has overall outpaced it for decades (1995-2024), according to Masterworks data.
Masterworks lets everyday investors invest in shares of multimillion-dollar artworks by legends like Banksy, Basquiat, and Picasso.
And they’re not just buying. They’re exiting—with net annualized returns like 17.6%, 17.8%, and 21.5% among their 23 sales.*
Wall Street won’t talk about this. But the wealthy already are. Shares in new offerings can sell quickly but…

Your Challenge: Create Your First Budget
Your mission this week is to create a simple budget. Don't worry about making it perfect; the goal is to get started. We've broken it down into a few easy steps. You can do this!
Track Your Income: Tally up all the money you have coming in each month from all sources. This is your starting point.
Track Your Expenses: For one week, write down everything you spend money on. You can use a notebook or a simple notes app on your phone. This will give you a real-world look at your spending habits.
Categorize and Plan: At the end of the week, group your expenses into categories (e.g., housing, food, transportation, entertainment). Use this information to create a simple monthly plan. A popular method is the 50/30/20 rule: 50% for needs, 30% for wants, and 20% for savings and debt repayment.
Ready to Take on the Challenge?
We believe this one action can fundamentally change your relationship with money. By taking a few minutes this week to create a budget, you are building the foundation for a stronger financial future.
Are you ready to take control of your money and build a plan for your success? To your success,
